6 December 2006 - Brussels Start the seventh research framework program
Last November 30, the European Parliament adopted the new European framework research program, relative to the period 2007-2013.
The final adoption by the European Union Council is expected within the months of December, but in the meanwhile the Commission will launch the first call for proposals next December 22.
The program, with a budget of about 54 billion euros, will contribute at financing EU research in many sectors such as biotechnologies, energy, environment and transport, through four main programs: Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities. The “Environment” thematic area, inside the Cooperation program, will receive about 1,8 billion euros, over a period of seven years .
