Established in Rome in 1994, Comunità Ambiente is a consulting company with a long experience in the environmental sector with particular reference to the conservation of nature. The company has significant work experience in projects and studies for Italian Administrations and the European Commission in relation to biodiversity policies and the implementation of the Habitats and Birds Directives.

The staff includes experts in the field of nature conservation, with long standing experience in the management of the Natura 2000 network and in the coordination of naturalistic projects, in the evaluation of scientific and administrative reports (including management plans of Natura 2000 sites), in the production of scientific and dissemination publications and in training and in planning in the context of EU funds in the environmental sector. In all these areas Comunità Ambiente is able to provide support with a high degree of expertise, thanks to the professional experience gained working in the public and private sectors.

Comunità Ambiente has participated to the production of naturalistic studies on species and ecosystems at European level and of national and international projects for Natura2000. This expertise allows the company to have a thorough and updated understanding of issues and policies, both national and international, related to nature conservation and sustainable development.

Since 2016 Comunità Ambiente has been a member of the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA), which aims to support “participatory science” by encouraging citizens in Europe to participate in research processes across the natural, social, humanistic and artistic sciences.
