Italy and Slovenia cooperate in the “Adriawet 2000” EU project in order to protect the biodiversity of wetlands of the Adriatic that are part of the European Natura 2000 network.

The project involves the development of an integrated management system between the two nations in order to make the Natura 2000 sites involved a tool and for sustainable growth. Another objective is to define models of local cooperation that can produce concrete results in terms of employment by developing content and actions in favor of environmental education, awareness raising and cultural animation.

The “Adriawet 2000” include the City of Staranzano (Gorizia),the  DOPPS Slovenia ONG, the Social Consortium ‘Mosaic’ and Veneto Agriculture organization .
