Next Thursday 29 February, from 12 pm, at the San Benedetto Higher Education Institute in Latina, “From our pastures to your tables in Latina” will take place, an initiative to enhance the production deriving from grazing animal breeding systems, organized from the LIFE GRACE Project, of which ARSIAL is the leader.

The meeting aims to enhance the quality of animal production and concludes a process that began last January 15th of training and raising awareness on the issues of pasture conservation and the development of innovative commercial solutions for “grass-fed” meat through a territorial network approach.

With a view to redeveloping a local economy, LIFE Grace intends to promote education and training opportunities essential for employment growth, for the development of the local economy and to consolidate the market for meat and other products deriving from extensive farming in natural areas focused on grazing. The European Directives that established the Natura 2000 Network, in fact, recognize the value of all those areas in which the presence of man and his traditional activities has allowed the maintenance of a balance between human activities and nature over the centuries; it is no coincidence that in these areas the objective is to conserve the semi-natural grazing habitats that the LIFE Grace Project in Lazio deals with.

The process has already involved students and teachers of the San Benedetto Institute in Latina through a teaching unit specifically dedicated to LIFE GRACE led by prof. Forzan and which will also include a final exam. And after meat preparation workshops and tasting events, such as the one at the Campagna amica market on January 24th, during next Thursday’s initiative the students will be engaged in a meat cutting workshop led by Mara Labella and Orlando Di Mario , who have represented professional excellence in their sector for years.

At the end of the educational activity, a meeting will be held with the main representatives of the territory to jointly build territorial aggregation and co-marketing tools to redevelop and strengthen the livestock supply chains in line with the sustainable development of the territories and at the same time, to improve the profitability of company resources while maintaining its autonomy. Speakers will include: the MEP Matteo Adinolfi, the Regional Councilor for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Giancarlo Righini, the Regional Councilor for Tourism, Environment, Sport, Climate Change, Energy Transition, Sustainability Elena Palazzo, the President of the Province of Latina Gerardo Stefanelli , the Acting Mayor of Itri Giuseppe De Santis, the Mayor of Sermoneta Giuseppina Giovannoli, the Councilor for Productive Activities of the Municipality of Latina Antonio Cosentino, the Councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Latina Gianluca Di Cocco, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Frosinone and Latina Giovanni Acampora, the Director of the Territorial Area of Latina Anna Carbonara, the Regional Councilor Enrico Tiero, the President of the Italian National Butchers Orlando Di Mario, the President of Confcommercio Lazio Sud Priverno Annarita Fantozzi, the President of Confcommercio Lazio Sud Fondi Vincenzo Di Lucia , the provincial President of Federcarni Lazio Sud Mara Labella, the Director of the EBTL Bilateral Tourism Board of Lazio Silvana Morini, the Director of Confcommercio Lazio and Confcommercio Lazio Sud (Fr and Lt) Salvatore Di Cecca, the Training Manager of the Bilateral Tourism Board of Lazio Francesca Sofia , the representative of Confcommercio Lazio Sud Antonella Masocco, the delegate of Environment and Rural Development of Itri Massimo Pelliccia. The latter is among the breeders of the Grace Network (business network) who will welcome the students on a visit to the company, which will be held in March, where they will be able to see the Vitellone Bianco d’Itri grown organically on pasture in the Monti Aurunci SPA and appreciate a tartare-based tasting made from these meats.

At the end of the meeting, a tasting of menus based on meat from the pastures and local products grown in the San Benedetto Institute will be offered with glasses offered by La Valle dell’Usignolo.
