On the morning of April 8, in the city of Formia, a inter-municipal table for the prevention of forest fires on the Aurunci and Ventotene mountains took place.
The event was organised by the Incontri&Confronti Association, and it was attended by 14 Municipalitie, Regional Representatives of Environment Directorates, Agriculture and Parks and Protected Areas, Associations and Mountain Communities with the aim of identifying and sharing actions in the management of habitats subject to abandonment and malicious acts such as fires.
The inter-municipal table was attended also by Dr. Claudio Di Giovannantonio of the ARSIAL Lazio Region and Professor Fabio Attore of the Sapienza University of Rome, both partners of the LIFE Grace project; who discussed GRACE’s ecosystem approach to the conservation of natural ecosystems and the services provided to human communities.
In addition, they gave methodological indications to be implemented in the next planning of the pastures and addressed the containment of the Ampelodesmos mauritanicus through the use of the Pony of Esperia already implemented on an experimental basis with Unituscia.
