Wednesday, December 11th marks International Mountain Day, established by the United Nations in 2003 to highlight the importance of mountains and raise awareness of the challenges these regions face due to the climate crisis and biodiversity loss.
On this occasion, Rai3 Umbria interviewed one of our partners, Professor Daniela Gigante of the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Perugia. Gigante explained the importance of grazing activities for the conservation of biodiversity in these environments and the delicate nature of their management.
This is precisely one of the actions that LIFE IMAGINE is carrying out with the Perugia research group in various mountain areas and with the valuable collaboration of several Umbrian agricultural companies.
