On Tuesday 3 September, at 3:30 pm in the Hall of Honour of Palazzo Donini, the 14 training courses that the LIFE IMAGINE project has created with the aim of improving the skills of public and private operators involved in the management of the Natura 2000 network in Umbria were presented.

Speakers included Roberto Morroni, Councillor for the Environment, Livia Bellisari (Comunità Ambiente Srl), Project manager of the project, Roberto Venanzoni, professor of the Department of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Perugia; Antonio Boggia, professor of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences at the University of Perugia and Alessandro Marucci, professor of the Department of Civil, Building – Architecture, Environmental Engineering at the University of L’Aquila.

The courses, which are available free of charge, were developed in collaboration with university professors from the four partner universities of the project, expert staff from the Umbria Region and sector specialists.

The training courses, which include 14 courses for a total of 62 modules, range from specific topics such as the Natura 2000 network in Umbria, the integration of environmental assessments and the use of GIS in the assessment of environmental impact, to more general topics such as the analysis of habitats and species protected by Directive 92/43/EEC, up to dealing with highly topical topics such as green professions, eco-tourism and sustainable agriculture.
