New episode of the weekly column “LIFE Grace Testimonials” to give voice to breeders, teachers, nutritionists etc. on the topics of organic farming, extensive grazing, valorisation of the territory, native breeds and local products.
Today’s testimonial is Daniela Gigante, Associate Professor of Botany at the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences of the University of Perugia and partner of the LIFE IMAGINE project in Umbria.
One of the actions of the LIFE IMAGINE project is the conservation of secondary grasslands just like the LIFE GRACE project. Secondary prairie pastures are habitats rich in species but at the same time meet socio-economic needs such as grazing for their conservation.
Among the concrete interventions of the LIFE IMAGINE project, in addition to field interventions of bush clearing and removal of invasive alien species, activities will also be implemented to enhance the value of local products from some small companies in the area.
